Portsmouth take January transfer decision on defender after interest from several clubs

Portsmouth have confirmed defender Haji Mnoga has joined National League side Weymouth on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has decided to join the Dorset squad on youth loan until the end of the current campaign, having been on loan with National League team Bromley for the first half of the campaign .

Mnoga has played seven times on loan at Bromley, while he also played for Portsmouth in the Papa John’s Trophy matches against AFC Wimbledon and Sutton United.

The new loan comes after Cowley confirmed there has been a lot of interest in the Pompey defender of late.

“Haji [Mnoga] has garnered a lot of interest from clubs in the National League, we think we’ve found the right club, the right person who wants them to play in a position where we see Haji playing in the future, “said Cowley.

“We had very good communication and a good link between this club and ours.

The teenager is now hoping for more consistent playing time at Weymouth, who currently sit in the National League relegation zone after losing their last six games.

Mnoga signed a new three-year contract at Portsmouth last summer, before joining Bromley on loan.
